Nerlens Noel is the 25th Best Player in the NBA….in 2017

So says a poll posted today on SB Nation. Six of the site’s writers got together and decided, based on nothing more than afternoon drive banter, to rank the top 100 players of 2017.

Noel, it should be noted, is recovering from an ACL tear suffered in February of last season while playing against Florida. He has yet to play an NBA game, and is unsure of when he will suit up for the Sixers this season.

Considered a defensive stalwart, many scouts have dubbed Noel a project. His offensive skills are lacking, and some have cited bad footwork and a lean body as possible detriments to his development as a front court player in the NBA.

As far as the Sixers are concerned, Noel is a big part of the team’s planned turnaround.

The list also includes Andrew Bynum(!) at 82, Thaddeus Young at 66 Jrue Holiday at 23 and Andrew Wiggins at number 8 (seems fair to him).

A 39 year old Kobe Bryant also makes the cut, as do LeBron James, Kyrie Irving, Kevin Durant and James Harden. You can read the full list here.
