Andrew Bynum likely out for Cavaliers Saturday, not expected to play second game of back-to-backs

I hate this guy.

ProBasketballTalk

Andrew Bynum made his somewhat unexpected debut for the Cavaliers during their season opener on Wednesday, after working his way back from knee issues following his signing in Cleveland during the offseason.

Bynum played again for the Cavs on Friday, and finished with five points and three rebounds in 11 minutes of action. He doesn’t yet appear to be anywhere near game shape, however, and with his history of injury, the team is taking the cautious approach in working him back to the point where he’ll be ready to play starter’s minutes.

From William Dannelly at NBA.com:

Andrew Bynum will most likely not play in [Saturday] night’s game in Indiana. Brown indicated that it would be highly unlikely Bynum would play games on back-to-back days right now due to his continued recovery process related to his knee injuries.

There’s a similar note in the recap of Friday’s game from Jason…

Sixers’ Evan Turner takes to Instagram to clarify unflattering quote

ProBasketballTalk

Evan Turner started all 82 games for the Sixers last season, and hasn’t known another franchise during his three years in the NBA.

With Philadelphia in a full-fledged rebuilding mode, Turner was quoted as saying something that wouldn’t come across as being all that flattering if it were to be read in print without context. So, he took to his Instagram page to try and set the story straight.

The initial comments weren’t all that inflammatory, but as transcribed and without the benefit of hearing the entire conversation, it painted Turner in a less than desirable light.

From Turner’s Instagram page (all comments sic):

“The same sword they knight you, they gone good night you wit…” I usually dont care what is written about me or what people think but in this case I do. I know you’ll never win a fight with the media but ill fight any day…

Carter-Williams Adjusting To NBA Life In First Sixers Camp

CBS Philly

By Matt Leon

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – The Sixers are continuing with their work on Hawk Hill as training camp continues.

All kinds of new faces on the roster this season, and that includes rookie guard Michael Carter-Williams. The first round draft pick out of Syracuse is adjusting to life in the NBA here in his first pro training camp.

“Things are going well,” Carter-Williams tells KYW Newsradio. “I’m learning a lot. It’s been a long couple of days, so I’m just trying to learn, keep my legs healthy, just get treatment and stuff.”

Carter-Williams averaged nearly 12 points a game last season as a sophomore for the Orange and he says the NBA game takes some adjusting too.

“I think the game’s a lot faster and you’ve got to make decisions quicker,” Carter-Williams says. “And that’s something that I’m working on.”

Andrew Bynum ramping up activity but no timetable. That sounds familiar.

Heh heh

ProBasketballTalk

“I feel pretty good and I am definitely getting better… I think if all the beans were on the table, I would be out there (playing right now).”

That’s Andrew Bynum from the Sixers training camp last year, on Oct. 9 to be exact.

We bring you that as a bit of context for the Andrew Bynum news coming out of the Cleveland Cavaliers media day.

He has been cleared for basketball activities but has no timetable for return. Philadelphia fans are nodding their heads, they’ve heard this before. Last season Bynum got all the way to 5-on-5 scrimmages but never got into a…
